Today I received an email from Dr. Fearon. This is what he wrote:
Dear Darcy:
As you may know, my entire practice is focused on treating children with birth defects. I have come to appreciate that what really differentiates a normal child from one with true challenges is development. The next most important trait is probably happiness, which I think is a fairly innate characteristic. If it is the sense that T. is bright, and she seems like a happy child, I would think that you could not do better.
So true.
